“It’s a high honor because you’re recognized as one of the best players in the South Bay,” explains Morningside Football Coach Lafayette Fletcher. “Wilson is First Team All American and he’s being recruited by four colleges, so we’re also looking forward to celebrating the announcement of his selection next month.”
His commitment to being successful beyond high school has gained respect from his mentors and peers alike.
“A’Darrus is definitely a playmaker with phenomenal stats on the field,” said Vice Principal Davis. “His hard work has caught the attention of several universities and we look forward to his transition as a collegiate athlete.”
“It feels great being named one the best in my area,” said Wilson. He credits his mom and his coach along with Vice Principal Jevon Davis and Math Teacher Ms. Williams as his inspirational village to success. “They were all very supportive of me. I felt proud to be at the awards luncheon in an environment among other students who are on a similar path. I’m really glad that I could play my absolute best this season and I want to continue to move forward.”
